• Relevant qualifications and endorsements.
• Sailing CV and proof of sailing experience in relevant sailing areas.
• 5-20 minutes for a personal interview.

To get approved as a skipper, you need to complete your online profile (feel free to pause and continue later if you are unable to complete everything at once).

After submitting your application, a Skipper.Ninja representative will personally check your profile and get in touch with you to schedule a personal interview in order to approve your application. 

Once officially approved, you can use our platform to set or update your pricing and availability. All the necessary details will be visible to fleet operators and our clients in the Skipper search result.

The time for approval may vary according to the current queue and your readiness for the personal interview.

Registering with Skipper.Ninja and using the booking platform is completely free for Skippers. There are no hidden costs or restrictions for an approved account.

The short personal interview will have a duration of approx. 5 to 20 minutes and will be done by video chat in a relaxed atmosphere.  

You may be asked to verify your identity by showing a personal identity document into the camera (passport, driving licence, etc). 

During the interview you will be asked questions about your skippering experience, places you have been to and your basic attitude. The information you give us in the interview is private and will not be shared with our other customers.

Once you find a Skipper for your pending job in our Search Engine you can get in direct contact by using our implemented communication system. Now it is time to find out if the skipper is the perfect match, discuss the job requirements and maybe sign an agreement for the job.

Please understand that sometimes our Experts may be forced to reject skipper applications in order to meet the high requirements of our partners. Usually you will get a short notice why your application was rejected and in most of the cases insufficient experience will be the reason for our decision. But this is not the end. Simply gather more experience, improve your profile and we will be happy to see you in the future again. 

Skipper.Ninja acts solely as an intermediary. If you have agreed to make a payment via the Skipper.Ninja platform, we act as an escrow agent during the fulfillment of the contract. This means that we will only release the prepaid payment for the job once it has been confirmed as completed. Beside this, each contracting party (Skipper, Operator, or Agency) is solely responsible for their conduct and compliance with the contracts concluded via our platform. However, in the event of a dispute, we assume the role of mediator and assist our customers in resolving the dispute to the best of our ability and provide logs as far as possible under existing laws.
